John F. Mooney retired from the FDNY after 33 years of service and was a proud member of the FDNY Holy Name Society and Anchor Club (past President).
The FF John F. Mooney Scholarship was created by his family to honor his memory. It is awarded to the highest scoring son or grandson of an active or retired FDNY Holy Name Society member who will attend Chaminade High School, a Catholic school rooted in a rich tradition of faith, and alma mater of John’s grandsons.

Holy Name Higher Education Scholarships
The drawing for the Higher Education Scholarships takes place at the Communion Breakfast. Members must be in good standing and be PRESENT at the Breakfast to have their children eligible for the drawing.
Applicants must be seniors in High School. Completed applications must be returned to William Meade ONE WEEK before the Annual Communion Breakfast event. Send your completed application to William Meade at wm519@msn.com.

A Scholarship in Memory of Deputy Chief Nicholas “Nick” Visconti
The Holy Name Scholarship was established by the friends and family of Deputy Chief Nick Visconti to honor his memory and legacy. Whether serving as a firefighter (E-50), lieutenant (E-37), captain (E-48), battalion chief (B-16), deputy chief (Divisions 3 and 14), or a member of the UFOA Executive Board, he epitomized the qualities of each rank, making him one of the most trusted, respected, and well-liked members of the FDNY.
This scholarship honors his service and the personal values that made him such a respected leader and mentor in the FDNY. Nick was known for his amiability, honor, trust, knowledge, dedication to others, and faith.
We congratulate the recipient and encourage you to embrace these values, striving to become a future leader in any organization.
