The FDNY Holy Name Society promotes the honor and glory of our Divine God and the Personal sanctification of its members by acts of love and devotion to the most Holy Name of Jesus. This Spiritual life of its members is a perpetual act of reverence and love.
Our members perform the Corporal Works of Mercy: to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, and tend the sick. The organization schedules a Communion Mass and Breakfast, a Memorial Mass, carries on a comprehensive program of charitable endeavors and educational interests.
The Holy Name Society promotes respect for the most Holy Name of God, faith in the Catholic Church, loyalty to ones country, and respect for all lawful authority both civil and religious.
Our mission is to strengthen the spiritual life of the FDNY community, honor the memory of those who have gone before us, and support members and families through meaningful acts of faith and service. The Society exists to preserve cherished traditions, encourage fellowship among members, and provide opportunities for prayer, remembrance, and community connection. This mission is reflected publicly through its annual Masses, memorial observances, and scholarship programs.

I pledge my loyalty
to the flag of my country,
and to the God given principles of freedom,
justice and happiness, for which it stands.
I pledge my support, to all lawful Authority
– both civil and religious.
I dedicate myself to the honor of
the Sacred Name of Jesus and beg that He
will keep me faithful to these pledges until death.
